Dog survives for 10 days without food or water on a mountain ledge in Snowdonia.
His master had been badly injured in a 600ft fall and Sutty, a 14-year-old cross breed King Charles-type spaniel, had ran away when he heard the blades of an RAF rescue helicopter.
Sutty had saved his owner's life by barking when he fell, and attracting attention.
Posters had been placed appealing for help to find Sutty after the accident at Carnedd y Ffiliast, close to the Atlantic Slabs, a steep climb a few miles from Bethesda.
Rob Shepherd, a member of Llanberis mountain rescue team, and Sian Williams had gone for an evening’s climb on Saturday when they heard faint whimpering.
Rob made a difficult ascent on steep and broken ground to find Sutty sheltering on the ledge. With the help of Sian and a member of the Ogwen Valley mountain rescue team Sutty was lowered to safety in Sian’s rucksack.
