View Bangor Pier to Menai Bridge in a larger map
This is the first of a series of short walks based on the Wales Coast Path - either circular, or using public transport to get back to the start of the walk. This is ideal for people for whom 3 to 4 miles is a good walk, and who want to see what the Wales Coast Path has to offer.
Bangor Pier (50p entry fee). Makes a good walk in its own right. |
The path up from the car park has great views east to the Orme. |
A quiet lane soon branches off to the right. |
Back at sea level you have great views of the pier. |
The Nantmor woods give seclusion from the sun. |
The path turns inland at this point. |
When the tide changes, you witness a sudden rush of water through the strait. |
The inland path takes you to the A5 along pleasant lanes. |
There is a good pavement walk along the A5. |
Excellent parkland abuts the A5 and you can walk off the pavement here. |
Great place for a picnic before returning to the car park. |
