The Rhug estate on the A5 out of Corwen has always had a popular farm shop. It started as a couple of caravans with a coffee stop. It then grew a restaurant and farm tours. All of the old buildings have now been cleared away and a completely modern structure has replaced it. They still offer fast food and take away coffee at the counter but there is a much enlarged shop and a really good restaurant inside. The range of organic produce and foods is huge and I can heartily recommend the Bison steak. They have a herd of North American Bison on the estate imported from Ireland. They can be seen in fields nearby. This is a great place to stop off if you are journeying into Wales along the A5.
