Changes of Light

One of the things that makes North Wales such a remarkable place is how changes of light make a familiar place see quite different. I use the back road over Mynydd Rhiw as a short cut to Pwllheli when I go to pick up walkers from the railway station. Every time I go over the hill and look at the view over Hell's mouth / Porth Neigwl I see a different view. These three shots were all taken in the morning over the last week or so. They make me think of R.S. Thomas' poem "The View from the Window".

Like a painting it is set before one,
But less brittle, ageless; these colours
Are renewed daily with variations
Of light and distance that no painter
Achieves or suggests.
