Penrhyn to Menai Bridge - Wales Coast Path Circular Walk

View Bangor Pier to Menai Bridge in a larger map

This is the first of a series of short walks based on the Wales Coast Path - either circular, or using public transport to get back to the start of the walk. This is ideal for people for whom 3 to 4 miles is a good walk, and who want to see what the Wales Coast Path has to offer.

Bangor Pier (50p entry fee). Makes a good walk in its own right.
The path up from the car park has great views east to the Orme.
A quiet lane soon branches off to the right.
Back at sea level you have great views of the pier.
The Nantmor woods give seclusion from the sun.
The path turns inland at this point.
When the tide changes, you witness a sudden rush of water through the strait.
The inland path takes you to the A5 along pleasant lanes.
There is a good pavement walk along the A5.
Excellent parkland abuts the A5 and you can walk off the pavement here.
Great place for a picnic before returning to the car park.
