It’s a boy! Or is it?

As forecast in my blog of May 1st, the Osprey eggs in the Glaslyn Valley were due to hatch in the second week of May. Three eggs duly hatched, on the 11th, 12th and 14th. Apparently it will be a few weeks yet before we know the sex of these chicks. Mother and babies are all doing well.

This sequence shows the speed with which chicks are conceived, and then hatched. They only met up again after the winter on the 20th March and by 14th April they are a family of 5. That is some going!
